Too often I find that heroes and heroines are isolated from their peers and the romantic relationship they develop in the book is the only one they have. The Chain Reaction by Simone Elkeles is an example of this. I liked Carlos and Kiara's romance, but I wanted to see Carlos make some friends that weren't Kiara. He sort of did, but though it's hinted at, it doesn't happen in the book. We find out about it in the epilogue.<br /><br />I agree with most of your other five, too, except the one about more horror.
