In My Mailbox (12)

Tuesday, July 19, 2011

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme devoted to sharing the new books we've received, borrowed, or bought. For more information, visit IMM's fantastic host, The Story Siren. You can visit other blogs that are participating in this week’s IMM here.

Won:
Relic Master: The Dark City by Catherine Fisher
from Reading with Tequila

I loved Catherine Fisher's writing in the Incarceron series so I'm looking forward to checking out something different from her.

Received for review:
The Mephisto Covenant by Trinity Faegen
Torrent by Lisa T. Bergren

IT'S HEEEEEEERE! It's here! It's here! Torrent is here! First, though, I'm reading The Mephisto Covenant and it's AWESOME. In the first 15 pages there's a stoning. A STONING!?! Love.

Ebooks:
The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson (via NetGalley)
Rampant (Killer Unicorns #1) by Diana Peterfreund (via Overdrive/library)

Killer. Unicorns. I had to try it.

That's it for now. What books did you get recently?

OH, MY GOD. *hyperventilates* I saw everything, yet I saw nothing as soon as I saw that you listed Torrent. OH, MY GOD. You lucky blogger! I'm so, so, so jealous! Gah. Please do not fail to tell me how great the book is. Please.

I can't wait to read The Girl of Fire and Thorns--I got it this week, and the new, official cover is to die for. The Mephisto Covenant--same thing. And Rampant is something I've been wanting to pick up for awhile, but keep forgetting to every time I go to the library. Vicious unicorns--that book is screaming my name. Great mailbox! Enjoy!

Torrent!!!! My copy hasn't come yet :( I'm curious to see what you think of The Mephisto Covenant. I read a few reviews and it doesn't seem like something I'll like, but I really want to like it. The cover, the title, I just want to love it even though I think I won't.

I did loooove Rampant. Best use of the word "gored" ever. Astrid's mom is nuts. The different unicorns were my favorite part. So much action!

Me too, me too! I also got Rampant. Maybe if you love it and I hate it, that could be our point-counterpoint thing.

I'm really going to have to get onto reading Waterfall. I'll do it, I swear I will. What, some more books came in the mail today? Gotta go!

Oh, dear. Why does a stoning equal love? Heh, I'm looking forward to what you think of the Killer Unicorn series.

Those are two words I would never have put together: killer unicorns.
