This week's question is:
(or had a hard time finishing?)
I really, really, really, really hate not finishing books. I avoid it if at all possible. For the first time yesterday, I had to email two (two!) authors and tell them I was declining to review their books because I just wasn't interested enough to finish them. That was hard for me to do, but at the same time, it was stressing me out having these unfinished books hanging over my head.
Ugh. Just...ugh.
What books have you struggled to finish lately?

Yes, there was one book I didn't mention in my answer that was given to me by an author for review. I really feel bad about that, it was a high fantasy, and that's not always my thing. So, I didn't feel it was a bad book, just not for me. I keep telling myself that I'll go back to it some day, but honestly, that's not likely to happen. Have a great weekend!
Logan! *hugs* I feel exactly the same. I hate not being able to finish a book, so I always power through, even when I know I'm wasting precious reading time. I must learn to let go of these feelings of complete failure.
Happy Friday!
I love how many challenges you do! I'm going to have to check some out.
Oh I have a hard time not finishing a book. I think it was a book that a lot of YA people loved, but I just found too predictable and tedious. I just couldn't finish it. Then I had another that I kept hoping would turn out better, but it just didn't. I had 200 pages in and had 100 to go so I was determined to finish what I had put in. Oh I do so need to let it go sometimes. lol
I'm so proud of you! I don't think I could tell an author that I didn't find their book interesting enough to finish. So I'd finish it and then agonize over the negative review I'd have to write. I think I like your solution better. Especially since having unfinished books hanging over your head is the WORST side effect of being a blogger. I hate it.
As for not finishing books, I confess I've gotten a lot better at this lately. It's probably related to having a large TBR pile. I generally have a book I'm reading for review, and a book I'm reading for pleasure. Sometimes they're one and the same...and sometimes they're not. To keep me sane, though, the book I'm reading for pleasure has to be...pleasurable. I'm perfectly willing to set it aside if it's not.
Hmmm...can I convert you over to the darkside of ruthless DNF-ing? >:) Just keep telling yourself: You're going to DIE EVENTUALLY and you won't have enough time to read everything on your TBR pile. Nothing gets me to DNF faster than the prospect of Death Before TBR Completion.
